1. Data Controller
The AstroTypeDB brand is operated under Echo Lab LLC, established in the State of Wyoming, United States. Echo Lab LLC is responsible for the ownership of the site and the processing of personal data related to its services. For users accessing from Türkiye, Echo Lab LLC is also the data controller under Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data (KVKK).

2. Data We Process
AstroTypeDB processes the following data categories when providing account, profile, and community services:
- Identity and contact: username, email, optional display name, profile photo.
- Authentication: password hash, JWT access/refresh tokens, OTP code, IP address.
- Astrology inputs (optional): birth date, birth time, birth city/country, latitude/longitude.
- Personality test results: your answers, the generated MBTI/Enneagram/Big Five/Moral Alignment outputs.
- Community activity: comments, votes, favorites list.
- Technical data: browser info, device type, error logs, performance metrics.
3. Purpose and Legal Basis
- Managing your account and maintaining the operation of the service (performance of contract).
- Producing birth chart, synastry, and transit calculations you request (explicit consent).
- Displaying community comments/votes (performance of contract).
- Service security and prevention of abuse (legitimate interest).
- Compliance with legal obligations.
4. Retention Periods
- Account data: while the account is active; deleted within 30 days of a deletion request.
- OTP codes: invalidated in 10 minutes, purged from backups within 30 days.
- Access/refresh tokens: invalidated after token expiry (1 and 7 days respectively).
- Server and error logs: up to 90 days.
- Personality test results: until you delete your account.
5. Transfers and Third Parties
We do not share your data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes. We only establish processor relationships with infrastructure providers that are essential for the technical operation of the service (hosting, email delivery, CDN). Lawful requests from competent public authorities are an exception.
6. Your Rights under KVKK Article 11
- Learn whether personal data is processed.
- Learn the purpose of processing and whether it is used appropriately.
- Learn the third parties to whom data is transferred domestically or abroad.
- Request correction of incomplete or inaccurate processing.
- Request deletion or destruction.
- Object to automatic decisions.
- Claim damages in case of injury.

7. GDPR — European Union
GDPR (2016/679) applies to users accessing from the EU and EEA. Our processing bases (Article 6): performance of contract, explicit consent, legitimate interest, legal obligation. GDPR rights (Articles 15–22): access, rectification, erasure ("right to be forgotten"), restriction of processing, data portability, objection, not being subject to automated decisions, complaint to the supervisory authority. International transfer: our servers are in the USA; transfers are protected by EU Standard Contractual Clauses (SCC).
8. CCPA / CPRA — California
For California residents: rights to know, access, delete, correct, opt out of "sale/share" (we do not sell personal data), limit use of sensitive data, and not be discriminated against. Contact: privacy@astrotypedb.com.
9. Children's Privacy
AstroTypeDB is not directed at users under 13 years of age; we do not knowingly collect data from this age group (COPPA and GDPR Article 8 compliant).

This text may be revised depending on legislative changes or updates to the scope of our service. Material changes will be announced on the site.
